About SIHM Manipur

Nestled in the foothills of the Eastern Himalayas, the state of Manipur is considered the Gateway to South East Asia. The ecstatic beauty of the state leaves every traveller spellbound, described as the ‘Land of Jewels’. Sprawling across 5.1 acres of land in the picturesque valley of the capital city Imphal, located in the eastern part of the city, the SIHM Manipur campus harbours state-of-the-art infrastructure of international standards. Created with a vision to impart world-class hospitality training, SIHM Manipur hosts a range of courses in both Diploma and Degree levels to make students compete in the international stage. With this project in Manipur, the department has shown its intention to leverage its human capital through advanced sectoral training of international standards and promote tourism. It’s going to be one of the 21 central Institutes under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India. The Institute offers five degree programs and one diploma program, with two Master’s degree programs to be announced.

Message from the Hon’ble Chief Minister N. Biren Singh

I am immensely happy that the Department of Tourism could conceptualize a project that will go a long way in strengthening our cultural significance and present it to the world. For decades the youths of our State had to look outside the region for opportunities, however, with this project in place, our youths can now hone their skills at home. An essential aspect of nation building includes empowering the youth and I believe the State Institute of Hotel Management is a step forward to the goal of Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi Ji's self-reliant India.

The dream that we have with this initiative, if nurtured, will open up a plethora of opportunities for the youths in a way that was much awaited. I would like to congratulate the Department of Tourism, Manipur for drafting the architecture of this progressive project in the form of SIHM Manipur and demonstrate their commitment for the welfare of our youths.
